History of Sorella Jerseys

Trish Albert and Julie Gaz | Published on 1/14/2025

From the Sorella website:

“Back in 2006, Atlanta lacked a women’s only cycling club. Numerous clubs in the metro area had active female members and a few teams supported a handful of elite racers. But a club, strictly for women, that promoted cycling on all levels, from novice riders to recreational riders to aspiring and serious racers, on dirt trails and pavement, did not exist…”

Every proper club and team needs a cycling kit—a jersey and cycling shorts. Sorella’s have evolved through the years. The first kits were from Sugoi. Back in those days you were charged per color, so the color schemes were simple. Today with digital sublimation we can have unlimited colors and bolder designs.

I used to ride occasionally with the regional Hincapie Sportswear representative Lynn Joslin. She gave me a team BMW jersey--this was the jersey that started Sorella on the path to be presented by Hincapie Sportswear. I loved the fit of the jersey and the soft material in first iteration of the Velocity jersey. Lynn wondered if Sorella would be open to changing their clothing provider, I put her in touch with the Board, and the rest is history!

Sorella has watched the Hincapie custom line morph from a few items to a couple dozen today. We can choose from the lightweight summer Endurance, the all around Signature, and the staple Velocity. We have a dozen kind of bottoms to choose from and so many jerseys, jackets, and vests! Hincapie has something for any kind of riding we want to do.

The photo is a journey of the Sorella kit design from our first year to the current year. The logo has changed a few times from a lady with flowing hair on a bike to today’s simple Sorella. We are very fortunate to be Sorella Cycling presented by Hincapie Sportswear!
