About this event

SUP:
Learn how to Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) and Improve your breathing dynamics Mini Clinic

Work on demolishing those cycling jersey tan lines and learn how to stand up paddle board at Teresa and Karin’s MTB/SUP mini camp!

In my “course” I will teach you the basics of stand up. How to balance and stand on the board, hold your paddle, get power from your stroke and if you are a quick learner, how to do a bouy turn! I will provide 2 race boards that are not your normal wide and short recreational boards, so balance will be key. YOU WILL FALL IN THE WATER! Once that happens you will be much more relaxed and able to concentrate on gliding through the water and hopefully opening yourself up to another incredible sport! If you own a paddle board, rigid or inflatable, please bring it, and a paddle if you own.

Will also go over breathing dynamics and body positioning. This is what I do for my day job, amongst many other focus’s on the lower body, the foot and functional movement. Breathing correctly and efficiently is really hard! Our diaphragms, pelvic floors, rib cages and neck muscles have evolved to accommodate our seated lifestyles, in the car and at the desk. Most of us have a forward head posture, also messing with the breathing dynamics and “stacking” of the rib cage and pelvis that are necessary for efficient breathing. This will be a fun session and hopefully something useful for you to implement when you get home.

MTB:
These trails have something for everyone. The beginner trail is machine cut and smooth as silk, there’s a fun pump track, you can easily ride 3+ hours and never be on the same piece of trail depending on who is interested I can go over mountain bike skills needed for the more difficult sections, this will be playing bikes , no drop.
