RIDE POSTPONED: The shade on the Dirty Sheets route and continued cold temps at night have made the course unsafe for a night ride. Next week looks like we‘ll be getting more crud. I‘ll let you know when we have good night to ride!!! Join Betsy Hard on her *NIGHT DIRTY SHEETS (Chill pace).* This is classified as HOT, only because it will be dark and this may be someone‘s first night ride, otherwise, it‘s really a low level MEDIUM ride. This is a REGROUP ride (with a sweeper), with an expected chill pace of 11 mph (unless the ENTIRE group is capable of a slightly faster pace). It will be very dark, not much of a moon. If it takes longer than expected, we‘ll shorten the route a bit on the "fly". There is a slight chance for rain Friday night, so check the calendar for updates. I will postpone if it will be rain. https://ridewithgps.com/routes/49325702 Sorella Fella are welcome, following S/F rules (must be with an active Sorella member & ride at our pace, preferably, in the back). Bring food for afterward at the fire pit, OR, I‘ll put out information to RSVP‘d riders re: ordering delivery from Partners Pizza II in Arbor Springs. Expectations: A gravel or mountain bike, comfortable riding (one section) single track, and mellow gravel roads. A computer with the route loaded. To carry basic safety equipment (White front light & preferable a helmet light as well, rear facing red light, highly visible kit, puncture repair, multi tool, cell phone), and adequate fitness for this level/distance ride. There are two public rest rooms next to Halsa, across from the Gym. RSVP required. If you need to cancel, please let me know!!

This ride is cancelled for this Saturday due to current route conditions and expected rain. Will reschedule in the future. Join ride leader, Jason Cormier (860-906-8312) and the Currahee Pedalers for a gravel ride on Dirty Sheets. (This is a non-Sorella sponsored event but many Sorellas have riden with Jason and the Pedalers on past rides.) The route has pristine gravel and beautiful scenery. (You will see many of the "barn quilts" that are a feature of this area.) The no-drop ride will be 37 miles but there is a 22-mile option for folks who don‘t want the full 37 miles. It will be casual pace with the option for 2 groups incase folks want to ride a little faster with less stops. There are 2 water refill locations - one at a church and one at Cochran Mill Park. The ride is open to all levels of riders; mountain and e-bikes are welcome. The ride will start at 10am so please show up a few minutes early to gear up for the ride. Social afterwards, for those that can stay - bring a snack or something to share.

Join the Suwannee Bicycle Association for this annual bicycle challenge ride. Registration is still open. There is usually a small group of Sorellas that travel to North Florida for this ride. (And most years the weather is better there too.) This is NOT a race. It is an off-road endurance ride through woodlands along the Suwannee River. Approximately 50 miles of singletrack trails and woods roads have been linked to form a continuous route with minimum of pavement. This route has terrain, stream crossings, and distance to challenge all off road riders. This ride has excellent support of local club, great sag stops and multiple bail out options for those that are uncertain of riding 50 miles. For more details and full schedule of events go to suwanneebike.org/events/ididaride.

Do you work afternoons or evenings and can ride in the morning? Are you retired, aren‘t working or just want to play hookie for the day? Then join us on this Spicy gravel ride out of Serenbe the first Thursday of the month (January - May). Rides vary between 30 to 62 miles. Routes will be posted in advance (please download them). These rides regroup, so having the route on your computer is highly recommended, especially on the longer routes. Rides will start with shorter routes and at a "winter pace" (high 12 mph - low 13 mph) and gradually increase through the spring to longer distances and an average of 13.5 - 14 mph. We ride in cold (because we warm up quickly!), and sometimes in the wet (because weather happens). Occasionally I may need to change the date due to extreme weather or personal obligations, and, occasionally we may switch the location (just to mix it up), so check the calendar. Expectations: Ability & experience in riding gravel and single track with varying conditions and obstacles, to have a bicycle (gravel/mtb/cross) suitable for these conditions and properly maintained, to carry emergency repair supplies (tubes/air/plugs or patches/multi use tool, cell phone), and the ability to chat and laugh along the way. This is a ride, not a race, so we take care of each other! Non-members are required to register to sign the required waiver (if the waiver is not "up", just register). OR, make it simple and become a member by signing up on our webpage! Park near the Halsa Restaurant. There are public restrooms next to Halsa. Betsy is always open to having lunch or coffee at the Halsa afterward, or at one of the other new cafes nearby afterward!!! Sorella Fella‘s are welcome on this ride! (A S/F is one of the riders guys whom she wants to bring along). *Expectations for S/F‘s, ride OUR pace, generally as a sweeper.
