We will head to the lake and back for a total distance of around 27 miles. The pace is around 16-17 mph with a total of about 1000’ of climbing. This is a steady/social/adventurous 1-1.5 hour mountain bike ride (~7-9 miles) for Sorella Members only! The course is considered to be an intermediate trail with some technical climbs (~500-650 feet of elevation); however, Samantha will be taking slow (6-7mph), if and when needed. This ride is super fun and a great opportunity to be in the heart of nature on two wheels! There are tons of deer sightings and you can hear the trickling of the Chattahoochee flowing through the trail. There will be stops for to take a drink and dependent on ride attendees, we can meet for dinner after!

The Big Creek MTB Trails provide an escape to the woods right off GA-400 and Holcomb Bridge Rd. There are often deer and other wildlife sightings as well as trailside bicycle themed art. Join Betsy on the first Tuesday of the month for this NEW monthly ride. The ride will be at a social pace that will last for 1-1.5 hours and will cover the green, blue, and black trails except for the Troll Trail. There is also a skills area and pump track if anyone is interested in checking that out. The black trail has climbing and some advanced features that have ride-arounds. An intermediate level rider would be comfortable riding at Big Creek. If anyone drops back, Betsy will wait at the top of climbs and at intersections. As the weather is getting hotter, bring plenty to drink. If the riders would like, we can grab some food afterward. Please register for this ride so that Betsy can text you in the event that the trail is closed.

21-mile route, aiming for 14-15 mph. This weekly ride is a great ride to improve your climbing skills and step outside of your comfort zone with a supportive group of women. The ride is a mix of social (between the hills) and hard (4-5 pretty good) climbs. We cover ~1,880 feet of elevation gain. We will regroup at the top of the climbs. This ride is designed for experienced riders, comfortable riding in a group, with some light traffic on hills. After the ride there is a group that usually grabs dinner at nearby local restaurant.

This ride is designed for beginners who want to build endurance and miles over time and with a goal in mind. We‘ll start with lower miles at a slower pace and work up to higher miles at a faster pace with each month. Starting at the Hiram Trailhead (near HWY 278 and HWY 92 at mile marker 14.66), this ride is out and back on the flat Silver Comet Trail. In April, we‘ll begin with 15 miles and by October, our goal will be 50 miles to Rockmart and back. This ride is open to Sorellas and lady friends. Be ready to roll at 10 AM. Note that this ride will alternate between Saturday and Sunday mornings to hopefully allow for a time that meets your schedule. Please RSVP to let the ride leader know to expect you.
